Grants for cross-border projects in Central Europe. Deadline: 29 May 2026

The Central European Initiative (CEI) Cooperation Fund annual Call for Proposals 2026 is now open. This call supports innovative activities that strengthen cooperation among CEI Member States, with a focus on capacity building through transferring and sharing know how, and fostering mobility and networking. Proposals are expected to contribute to cooperation priorities aligned with the CEI strategic goals and Plan of Action. The call comprises two budget sections: one supporting activities under the CEI Thematic Agenda (including proposals linked to CEI Flagship Events), and a Focused Section aimed at forward looking initiatives. Under this call, an applicant institution may apply only once.

Who can apply?

Public and private institutions registered in a CEI Member State, non governmental organisations/civil society organisations (NGOs/CSOs), and international organisations are eligible to apply. CEI Member States include countries from Central and Eastern Europe and beyond.

Funding:

The total indicative budget is €442,000. Thematic Agenda activities can receive up to €342,000 (including funding for proposals that meet CEI Flagship Event requirements), and the Focused Section has up to €100,000 available. Applicants may request a CEI contribution up to the respective segment’s ceilings, and the CEI contribution cannot exceed 50 % of the total cost of the application.
