Interreg Europe and the Policy Learning Platform are conducting an onsite peer review in Region Västernorrland, Sweden, on 26 and 27 February 2025, in Härnösand. The Region Västernorrland is keen to learn from the experiences of peers on the topic of Structuring cross-regional S3 roadmaps in strategic sectors. The Policy Learning Platform team offers a service of interregional peer reviews. Regions facing specific policy challenges can request support from peer regions. The Platform identifies suitable experts (peers) from other regions to help the host region find solutions to its policy challenges. The peer review process involves an intensive 2-day peer-to-peer meeting, either online or onsite, with the host organisation.
The Region Västernorrland seeks advice on the following policy challenges:
1. How can we unleash the potential of our green energy and industrial know-how, especially in renewable energies and advanced manufacturing, to diversify the regional economy and increase the value added from production?
2. How can we enhance our ecosystem's competitiveness and innovation capacities, and create structures, resources and networks for regional SMEs to thrive, notably within and between our existing areas of strength; renewable energy and advanced manufacturing?
If you have knowledge of these policy challenges, please complete this short questionnaire before 24 January 2025.
Selected peers will receive a thematic paper to understand the Region Västernorrland's context and challenges. The process involves approximately 3 working days:
• 2 days for the peer-to-peer meeting to analyse challenges, meet stakeholders, and draft recommendations;
• 1 day for preparation, follow-up, and contributing to the final report.
Benefits for Peer Experts:
• Join a network of talented peers and gain recognition;
• Contribute to better regional innovation policies;
• Exchange knowledge and gain insights into other regions' practices;
• Feature in peer review communication materials;
• Receive financial support: travel and accommodation covered (within limits), plus a Flat Daily Allowance of €350 for up to three days, covering participation, preparation, and follow-up work.
Do not miss this chance to make an impact and exchange knowledge with peers across Europe!
