The European Partnership for a sustainable Future of Food Systems (FutureFoodS) announces its first co-funded call for transnational research projects, opening this week. This initiative is part of Horizon Europe, involving 86 partners from 29 countries, and aims to enhance food systems in alignment with the European Green Deal, UN's Sustainable Development Goals and Farm to Fork Strategy.

 

 

Call objectives:

• Fund innovative projects addressing sustainable food systems, focusing on post-harvest challenges;

• Engage research and innovation communities to promote systemic approaches that consider environmental, social, and economic factors.

Topics for proposals:

1. Sustainable and Resilient Food Systems: New approaches for reshaping interactions within food systems;

2. Innovations in Food Design and Processing: Development of healthy, sustainable food alternatives and understanding consumer acceptance;

3. Empowering Sustainable Food Choices: Creating environments that support shifts towards safe, nutritious, and culturally appropriate foods.

Eligibility: Proposals must involve at least three partners from three different countries, demonstrate a transformative perspective, and include an Impact Plan for food systems transformation. Universities, research institutes, SMEs, large enterprises, and public bodies are eligible applicants.
