Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) call

The CEF Transport Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) has launched a call for proposals to support the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure, aimed at decarbonising transport along the TEN-T network. This second phase (2024-2025) aligns with the new Regulation for the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure (AFIR) and the ReFuelEU aviation and FuelEU maritime Regulations. Eligible projects include infrastructure for road, maritime, inland waterway, and air transport, with new funding opportunities for Megawatt recharging stations for heavy-duty vehicles, and hydrogen and electricity supply at airports and ports. With a budget of €1 billion, mature projects with financing approval from an EU-based institution can apply. Proposals can be submitted by 24 September 2024.
