5th anniversary on 15 May 2024

Are you interested in Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3) and eager to learn more about shaping the future of European regional policy? Join Friends of Smart Specialisation's 5th anniversary on 15 May 2024 from 16:00 to 18:00 CEST in Brussels and explore how smart specialisation (S3) can drive broader policy frameworks for innovation and transformation in the EU. Register for the in-person event here. The Friends of Smart Specialisation (FoSS) is a group of independent innovation policy experts, set up in Brussels in 2018. The group’s goal is to support the mainstreaming of smart specialisation as an instrument for strengthening the multi-level European innovation system.

Since 2014, Smart Specialisation (S3) has driven European regional policy, but it's time for evolution. Join the workshop and explore how S3 can fuel broader frameworks for place-based innovation, enhancing resilience and technological sovereignty across the EU. This dynamic workshop delves into S3's role in shaping a pan-European innovation model and facilitating coordinated initiatives to address regional, national, and local challenges.

Discover how integrating Smart Specialisation Strategies at the core can transcend traditional cohesion policy boundaries. Learn how S3 can empower local ecosystems, fostering resilience and driving sustainable growth. Explore new industrial policies driving the green and digital transition, and foresee the future of S3 after 2025.

The workshop will take place at the Brussels offices of Birmingham and West Midlands and Oslo, located at 3 rue du Luxembourg, 1000 Brussels from 16:00 to 18:00 CEST on 15 May 2024. Please note that spots are limited, so if you're interested, be sure to register here before 10 May to secure your place.

Don't miss this opportunity to be part of the workshop shaping the future of European innovation and economic development and connect with industry experts, policymakers, and fellow enthusiasts.
